My problem is that my steam overlay is not working. 'When launching a game (specifically, CS:GO, DOTA and all Multiplayer Game), I receive a message stating that 'The in-game Steam overlay requires access for assistive devices to be enabled. To enable to (sic) the in-game overlay, open the Security and Privacy Privacy preference pane and allow access for Steam.' It provides a link to launch my privacy settings in my System Preferences.'

I check the Steam in privacy preference. But the problem is even it is checked the Steam, the Steam overlay is still not working, and when I close the Steam application and open it again and play a game it warned me again to allow Steam in Privacy preference and I always notice that when I open my Privacy preference my Steam is uncheck; it always uncheck by itself. I search in the internet that the cause of this thing, is because of the new System Integrity Protection. My question is how can I control the System Integrity Protection to allow the Steam to control my computer. I want to keep this protection and I don't want to be disable. Or is there any way to fix my Steam overlay?
Hello, i found a solution. Go to this website: and then download it. Don't mess with the versions section, just download the file and then run it.
It will update it and change the logo (if the logo is older) but don't worry about that. Just keep going, Next step is that you have to go to settings, Security and Privacy settings and go to accessibility section and then remove the Steam thing with the - button, after that. Re - add it after deleting the new steam that u had (the one that didn't work with the overlay) then keep the one u just downloaded in ur applications (or where ever u put ur steam) and then re - add it in the Security Privacy/ Accessibility settings and it should work fine 🙂. Please state which game?I assume this steam game came off Apple Store? If not, my advice is run away from it.It's highly possible that the maker is not updating the game and that if you update Sierra the game will stop working.
Look on apple store and check the supported versions of Sierra. If a maker chooses not to continue supporting new apple versions, there is nothing that can be done but speak to the maker.A game should not 'need to control your computer' every time it runs but may need a password when first installing (it's up to you if the game is worth trusting for even an install-time permission). The game should never access non-game data without your permission, and the maker is under contract with Apple that it not do so. Which is a huge benefit of using Apple's App Store. You shouldn't download binaries and run them (it could be dangerous to imac, or breach your security). If the steam game has an update it will appear and install in app store updates.Perhaps remove /HOME/Library/gamestuff and re-download the game. Perhaps it just doesn't 'update well'. Insure you get your game saves outta there before you try 🙂.
